All Shopify theme developers regularly release new versions with substantial enhancements for platform compatibility, search engine optimization, etc., and versions released over three years ago require an update to qualify for support.
Generally, we aim to support theme versions released within the last three years, but this timespan may be shorter to account for major upgrades (such as Product Media compatibility added in early 2020).
