All of our themes include the option to enable a top banner on Collection pages. Refer to the guide below for theme-specific setup instructions.
Turbo, Parallax, and Flex
In Turbo, Parallax, or Flex you will first need to upload a 'Collection image' for your collections. This will be the image that is displayed as the banner by default:
From your Shopify Admin, click Online Store > Themes > Edit theme to open the Theme Editor. Navigate to a Collection page which will bring up the Collection page settings in the Sections tab of your theme editor.
For Turbo
Under Sections > Collection > Banner, enable the 'Show banner' setting to display the banner image. If there is no collection image uploaded, you can upload a fallback image using Banner image and Mobile banner image:
For Flex
Open a collection page within the theme customizer (Edit theme), and click the Banner section to find the additional settings:
If you do not have a 'Collection image' uploaded, you can upload a fallback banner image within the theme editor settings as well. This fallback image will only display as the banner if there is no 'collection image' uploaded.
For Parallax
You can use the default Image with text overlay within the Collection template if you would like to assign a different banner image. Otherwise, the collection page will also show the "Collection image" uploaded on your Admin.
Responsive and Retina
In these themes, you will first need to upload a Collection image for your collections.
Underneath the Collection image option, you will see another setting called Templates. You'll need to change this template to banner:
After uploading the Collection image in your Shopify admin, you can display it on your Collection pages by enabling the Show collection image feature within the banner template:
Superstore, Pacific, Launch, and Vino
The collection image uploaded in the Shopify admin can be used as the banner image in these themes. Automatic fallback images are not currently supported.
To enable the collection image, go to your Themes > Edit theme > Collections > Default collection. In the sidebar, click on Collection pages and enable the toggle for "Show collection image".
