The Age verification popup helps ensure visitors meet the required age before entering your site. It is particularly valuable if your product line, audience, or local regulations require age-restricted access.
Enable the age verification popup
In the theme editor sidebar (Customize), look for the Popups section (second section from the top).
Click on this icon beside the Age verification popup to enable it:
Customize the Popup
Click the Age verification popup section to open the section's settings.
Choose a Color scheme to customize the section’s background and text colors. You can modify your color schemes in Theme settings > Colors.
Enable Test mode when you need to preview the Age verification popup, as it will appear on every page refresh. Be sure to disable this setting once your theme is live or after you finish configuring the popup.
Select a Background image for the section. If no image is added, the section will use the background color from the chosen color scheme. You can enable Blur to apply a blur effect to the image. The recommended image size is 2000 × 800 pixels.
Add a title to your popup using the Heading field. Use the Age verification question field to enter the question you want to display in the popup. Configure the buttons by setting the agree text in Approve button text and the decline text in Decline button text.
When the decline button is clicked, the Declined heading and Declined text are shown. A Return button also appears, allowing users to go back to the verification question.
