Drop-down Menus
Our themes (and Shopify) support three menu levels in the navigation. Within the three menu levels, there is support for up to two levels of drop-down menus.
In order to create a drop-down menu, from the Shopify Admin head into Online Store > Navigation.
Creating A Menu
Step 1: To create your first menu in Shopify, from the Navigation page, click the "Add menu" button.
Titles & Handles
Step 2: When creating your menu, assign your menu a title, for this example we will use the title "Main menu" Please note that your title will become your menu's handle, making any capitalized characters lowercase and replacing any spaces with dashes.
You can edit the handle by clicking on the pencil icon:
Creating A Drop-down Menu with Nested Navigation
Step 1: To create a drop-down menu, add a link to our main menu. For this example, we can add a new link titled "Bike Shop."
Step 2: To create items that will appear in your drop-down menu, click Add menu item, enter the name of the menu item, and enter or select a destination for it.
Using Shopify's nested navigation, you can click and drag the menu items to nest below the header item:
Now you're all set with your first drop-down menu!
You can continue to build out your menu and create more drop-downs. When all is said and done you should have a drop-down menu that resembles the following example:
