Vino: Product labels

Vino comes with product labels, also known as stickers or badges, that enhance product tiles and images.

The Sale product label is displayed automatically when a compare-at price is set for the product, while the Sold out label appears when the item has no remaining stock.

You can edit the texts used for these labels by visiting the language editor.

Create custom labels

There are two methods for adding custom labels to your products:

• Using product tags

• Using a metafield

Set up the product label using tags

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Products and open the product you want to add a custom label to.

2. Scroll to the Tags section and add a tag using this format: _label_Name
   
   Replace Name with your desired label. For example: _label_New Arrival

3. Then click Save.

Set up the product label using a metafield

Create the metafield

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Metafields and metaobjects, then select Products under Metafield definitions.
2. Click Add definition to create a new metafield for the product label.

3. Enter a name for the metafield (for example, Product label).

4. After entering the metafield name, the Namespace and key field will show up beneath it. Change the value to theme.label.
   
5. Set the Type to Single line text, then click Save.
   

Add the custom label to your products

Enter a value in the product label metafield to use as the custom label for your products.

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Products and open the product you'd like to add a custom label.
2. Scroll to the Product metafields section, enter a text value for the Product label metafield, and click Save.
