Our premium Shopify theme, Turbo, is built and optimized for speed. The theme includes two preset options for performance: Ludicrous and Sport. Explore the benefits and limitations for Ludicrous and Sport to determine which is most effective for your store.
- In the theme editor (Customize), open Theme settings
- Open Performance
- Adjust the Transitions setting
- Save
Ludicrous
When set to Ludicrous, you get the full advantage of Turbo's performance-enhancing features.
However, certain third-party apps or custom code may experience technical difficulties with the Ludicrous mode.
To reduce app conflicts, Turbo also offers the Sport mode.
Sport
Sport mode offers all of the same performance-enhancing techniques used in Ludicrous with only a single exception: page preloading.
In Turbo's Ludicrous mode, page preloading uses advanced methods to attempt to predict the next page the user will visit. If it is able to determine this, it starts loading that page in the background, so that if and when the user does click the link, the page will be partially or completely loaded.
App conflicts
The reason Sport is needed is that some apps are not compatible with this page preloading technology or the apps require a full page load rather than it being loaded in the background.
If you're experiencing issues with Turbo and have apps installed on your store, we suggest switching to Sport and seeing if that helps.
Of course, it's always possible that, like with any theme, Sport mode may still have conflicts with apps. In this case, we suggest disabling the app or working with the app developer to resolve the issue.
