Product pages in the Turbo theme include the Recommended Products feature.
Products are recommended based on an algorithm that gathers the most relevant products based on the product a customer is interacting with.
The feature's algorithm uses sales data and product description keywords to show a variety of products that are similar and bought together often. Because of this, the product recommendations improve over time as new orders and product data become available.
The product will have to be in a Collection in order for recommended products to show up. If the product is not in a collection, then no recommended products will display.
Check out Shopfiy's full documentation about product recommendations which includes requirements and limitations.
Enable Recommended Products
Open your theme editor (Customize), then open any product page in the right-side preview. In the left-side settings, open Recommended Products in the left sidebar to enable Show dynamic recommendations.
Adjust Recommended Products Settings
Use the Recommended Products settings to control the number of products, choose the layout design, and customize the section's heading.
Select either Grid or Slider with the Layout setting.
Use the Heading field to change the section heading from the default "You may also like."
Products per row
Use the Products per row slider to control the number of products included in each row.
Set a maximum number of products by adjusting the Limit products slider.
Specify Recommended Products
If you'd like certain products to show up as recommended products, you will need to create a specific collection! This will overwrite Shopify's algorithm meaning that the products won't display dynamically or improve over time.
Create the new collection and make note of the collection's handle. The collection's handle can be seen by clicking Edit Website SEO within the collection itself:
More on collection handles here: find the collection handle →
Then, go back to your product and add a new tag that specifies the collection's handle:
So in this example, since the collection handle is featured-products, so in our example product: 'Mixed Stripe Tee Dress' the tag to add would be meta-related-collection-featured-products.
