The following documentation will provide an overview of setting up the Blog Page and Blog Post Page within our themes. If you do not see any of these options, please update your theme.

In This Article
Adding a New Blog
By default, your store will have a Blog called 'News'. You can use this, or create your own with a different name.
To add a new blog:
- From your Shopify Admin, go to Online Store > Blog Posts
- Click Manage blogs
- Click Add blog
- Give your blog a title (you can also select how you want to manage comments)
- Save your Blog
Adding a Blog Post
Once you have your Blog created, you'll want to start adding Posts!
To add a blog post:
- From your Shopify Admin, go to Online Store > Blog Posts
- Click Add blog post
- On the Add blog post page, enter a title for your blog post. You need to have a title to save the post
Within the Blog Post admin page, you can enter the post's content. This field uses the rich text editor, so you can format your post content. You can also add an image, embed a video or other media, or insert a link.
You can upload a Featured Image for the post as well:

Configuring Blog Settings

Blog Page
To configure the settings for your Blog, head into Customize > Navigate to your Blog.
All of the Blog theme settings will appear in the theme editor:
Banner (Turbo, Retina, Parallax, and Artisan)
This only applies to our Turbo, Retina, Parallax, and Artisan themes. Mobilia and Responsive do not have a 'Banner' setting for the Blog Page.The Blog page has a 'Banner' setting that you can enable. The banner image can be set to 'Wide display' or otherwise, contained to the same width as the main content on the page. You can add a 'Heading' and 'Text' to appear ontop of the Banner image and adjust the 'text position' and 'text alignment'.
Content
Within the Theme Editor, you can configure what content to display on your Blog. This will include:
- Blog posts per row/Blog posts per page
- Enable breadcrumb links
- Choose to show blog post tags, author, date, comment count, and 'continue reading' link for blog post excerpts
Sidebar
There is an option to enable a 'Sidebar' on the Blog page! You can build out your Sidebar by clicking 'Add Content'. The Blog Sidebar includes the option to add:
- Search form
- Newsletter sign-up form
- Recent blog posts
- Blog post tags
- Menu
- Text
- Page
You can easily re-order the content options as well!

Blog Post Page
To configure the settings for your Blog, head into Customize > Navigate to your Blog > Click into a Blog Post.
All of the Blog post theme settings will appear in the theme editor:
The settings available for individual Blog Posts are very similar to those available for the Blog Page!
Banner
Applies to Turbo, Parallax, Retina, Responsive, and Mobilia. Artisan does not include this option. You can enable the Banner on the Blog Post page by checking off 'Show article banner image'. You have the ability to 'Darken blog post banner image' as well.
Turbo 'featured image' settingIn Turbo version 5.0 and up, there is the 'featured image' setting for the blog post within the theme editor. Here, you can choose to display your blog post featured image as a banner, within the content, or hide it completely on the post (this can be used if you only want the featured image to display on the main blog page).
Content
Within the Theme Editor, you can configure what content to display on your Blog Post. This will include:
- Enable breadcrumb links
- Choose to show blog post tags, author, date, comment count, and 'continue reading' link for blog post excerpts
- Choose to show social media icons and additional posts on blog post page
Sidebar
There is an option to enable a 'Sidebar' on the Blog Post page! You can build out your Sidebar by clicking 'Add Content'. The Blog Post Sidebar includes the option to add:
- Search form
- Newsletter sign-up form
- Recent blog posts
- Blog post tags
- Menu
- Text
- Page
