In order to use the 'product.details' template, the theme will need to be published! The templates from which you can select are limited to the templates available in your currently published theme.
If you are unable to currently publish your theme and would still like to set up the ‘product.details’ template, we have instructions on how to access unpublished templates here.

The details shared here apply to the most recent versions of Parallax, Retina, Mobilia, Responsive, and Artisan. To keep your theme up to date, check out this helpful document.
The Product.details template is not included in the latest release of Turbo. Use Online Store 2.0 features for adding sections to product pages to achieve the same results.
Using the Product.Details Template
Unique to your Out of the Sandbox theme, the product.details template comes with options to display some special layout features that let you easily create a feature-rich custom product page.
For Turbo, Retina and Artisan these layout features are: Rich text, Image gallery, Image with Text, Blog posts, Contact form, Custom HTML, Featured Collection, Video, Image with Text Overlay, Page, Map, Quote, Divider.
For Responsive, these layout features are: Rich text, Image gallery, Image with Text, Blog posts, Contact form, Custom HTML, Featured Collection, Featured Product (added in 7.2.0), Video, Image with Text Overlay, Page, Map, Quote, Divider.
For Parallax and Mobilia, these layout features are: Rich text, Image gallery, Image with Text, Divider, Custom HTML.
For Flex, these layout features are: Divider, Blog posts, Featured collection, Video, Image with text overlay, Logo list, Map, Page, Product reviews, Recommended products, and Rich text – which are available in all of the product template options.

Setting Up and Configuring
Step 1: First, pick a product that you want to display these content blocks.
Step 2: From your Shopify Admin > Products > click into your product and select the product.details template from the Template suffix area: 
Step 3: Next, head into your Theme Editor (online store > themes customize).
Step 4: In the theme editor, navigate to your product. The Sections tab will update to display the 'Product' section.
Step 5: By clicking the 'Product' section tab, you will see options to 'Add content' to this product page.
Step 6: By clicking one of these content blocks, you will see options to upload content into these sections.
Please note: The sections/content will be the same for every product using that product.details template. If you'd like unique content for other product.details page, you will need to duplicate the template.
